1. Frustrated!

So, I’ve had to call my venue twice, and email to chase up a receipt for my deposit. Not off to the best start now are we. I love the venue, we’ve signed the paperwork and the deposit is down (apparently) but I’m not impressed with the service now I’ve signed the paperwork. I’m assuming this is a common frustration with vendors - if you book something +12months in advance they don’t want to hear from you until a few months before the wedding?

Tough shit lady. I will bug you daily until you give me my confirmation!

  4. Enagement Party… get excited?

Trying to be inspired to organise decorations for the engagement party - i just want to get that over and done with so i can focus on the wedding!

I think we’ll just be limited to balloons, co-ordinated napkins and plates and some photos of us around the place.

Have managed to force my brother into arranging the music set up - e.g. i put songs on ipod, he does the rest to get the party cranking.

Other than that, hopefully everyone just has a good time, enjoys a drink or 5 and we get a chance to spend time with all of our guests - its shaping up to be a busy night as the guest list grows daily!

Just need to get H2B to arrange the alcohol and I need to work out food. Cocktail menu to follow tomorrow…

  5. As promised…

    A post! woo hoo!

Excited as I’ve booked the wedding photographer today. Friend of the family but comes highly recommended by other friends of ours. Great price, great photographer, great outcome (hopefully)

Also received a message asking me to be a featured blogger on a wedding site. The week is looking up!

Gathering photos for engagement party cakes so I’ll be posting again later today :)

  6. So its been a while…

I started this blog after getting back to work after the Christmas - New Years break thinking ‘yeah, I’ll totally have time to maintain a wedding blog’ but that totally has not been the case!

Since my last post AGES ago I’ve booked the engagement party and invites went out this week.

I’ve also booked the venue for the wedding and can excitedly say it will be on Saturday 7th May 2011 at www.brookleighestate.com.au

I’ve also decided on black and white colours with splashes of yellow (bridesmaids dresses, my flowers and groomsmens ties).

I’ve ask the two most amazing women in the world to be my bridesmaids, each of which accepted. I sent them a diamontee headband in the mail with a heartfelt card with a note saying “Will you help me head down the aisle”. They both cried, one of their mums cried. Good times all around!

After this weekend is over (date night, morning with H2B’s daughter followed by his cousins’ wedding and stay in Mandurah, then cricket Sunday) I will officially committ to getting this blog cranking! there will be plenty of posts coming, hopefully every second day :)

  7. On the night I met you, my heart stoped beating it froze with with desire, at what I was seeing. On this night for us that shoud’nt have been, what lay ahead nobody could see. You alone started these flames of wanting desire, a million seas couldn’t quench the fire. But love isn’t always the easy friend, you have to sail the storm to recieve the love you send. So till the day comes that these arms can hold you near, I’ll sail the storms and watch as the clouds disapear.
